No Restaurants in November: Challenge Round-up for 2011

This is the final update for the No Restaurants in November challenge over at Enemy of Debt

First of all. This was not as easy as it first looked when I started the challenge. I did pretty good on saving about 60% from my totals from November. It made buying Christmas easier for my family.

I can’t wait until next year to do this challenge again with better results. If you think this is going to be easy, then I wish you luck on trying to break old bad habits and start new good habits.

I’m going to enjoy the holidays before I start my next challenge in January.  I’m going to lose 30 lbs. and get into better physical shape then what I’m in right now.  This will be a harder challenge then the No Restaurants was.

No Restaurants in November: Day 8 (Nov 8th)

Today is the eighth day of the No Restaurants in November challenge over at Enemy of Debt.

This week is getting worse. I had two more Pepsi’s today to get rid of the headache I had and the kitchen is still out-of-order. I hate spending money unless I have to. I drop down to 75% savings. That is a decrease in savings of 5% from the past weekend.

But the good news is that we are getting a fountain pop machine in our kitchen and the drinks are free. The kind of machine you see at a gas station. This will help me a lot in this challenge. That means I will not be buying my Pepsi anymore.

Another piece of good news is that the guys are not going out to lunch this Friday so I can save more money there as well. Theis week might end up being a good week after all. Time will tell.

Totals for the challenge to date:

Days: 8/30 (22 more to go)

Actual Spent in Nov.: $17.80

Est. would have normally spent by now: $69.69 (8 days)

Savings so far this month: $51.89 (75% savings so far)

How did I come up with the estimated spending?

I based it on drinking 2 pops a day with 3 pops on Friday at $1.50 each, $1.75 a day on snacks and 2 breakfasts a week at $2.66 each time. Also lunch on Friday’s of $8.71, Pop and food on weekends of $10.00, and lunch on Thursday’s averaging about $12.00.

No Restaurants in November: Day 7 (Nov 7th)

Today is the seventh day of the No Restaurants in November challenge over at Enemy of Debt.

It was a bad day at work. I had two Pepsi drinks because our kitchen at work was out-of-order. this is not a good start for this week since my savings percentage dropped 3% from yesterday. If I can save 90% or more than I would be extremely happy with myself on this challenge. I will be happy anytime I can save money and get out of debt.

Totals for the challenge to date:

Days: 7/30 (23 more to go)

Actual Spent in Nov.: $14.80

Est. would have normally spent by now: $64.94 (7 days)

Savings so far this month: $50.14 (77% savings so far)

How did I come up with the estimated spending?

I based it on drinking 2 pops a day with 3 pops on Friday at $1.50 each, $1.75 a day on snacks and 2 breakfasts a week at $2.66 each time. Also lunch on Friday’s of $8.71, Pop and food on weekends of $10.00, and lunch on Thursday’s averaging about $12.00.

How much do you spend on stuff that you really don’t need? How much of it are wants?
